1930's American Smoked Glass Vase With Silver Overlay
Beautiful silver overlay lightly smoked glass vase made in America in the 1930's. The lip of the vase is banded in sterling silver. There are bands of cherry blossoms and fruit baskets on the neck and base of the vase's torso. In between the two bands is an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern with flowers and two cherubs holding a floral garland, the pattern is repeated around the body of the vase. With its graceful form and stunning hand embellished details, this piece embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of first-rate glass pieces prize. While it is a perfectly functional vase- ideal for presenting flower arrangements- it is also an objet d'art in its own right that promises to add a touch of elegance to any surface that it graces. Excellent condition.
