Mid-Nineteenth Century Chinese Wash Basin Stand with Brass Wash Basin
Mid-nineteenth century wash basin stand with brass wash basin. The stand is intricately carved in elm wood. The towel holders at the upper left and right of the stand exquisite carvings of two fishing boats at sea. Three separately carved panels form the back splash two depicting scenes of royal military encounters separated by scene from nature. There is an oval niche witch serves as a soap rest. The piece has lost some of its gilding and paint through time and wear, however, it has acquired a beautiful patina representative of its age. The wash basin is a later addition.
