Display of Three 18th Century Gilded Cherub Wings

Three exquisitely carved cherub wings in gilded wood. These beautiful examples of Sicilian artistry and craftsmanship, date back to the eighteenth century. The three miraculously preserved wings were reclaimed from cherubs that originally adorned the 18th century alter piece of a Sicilian church destroyed in an earthquake. Mounted on a black wooden base, they create an allegory of flight and divinity.
